Today is the birthday of my best friend, Melanie, and my favorite author, Willa Cather.

Both women brilliant yet not quite comfortable in their own shoes.

I just watched the Willa Cather documentary, on American Masters,for the second time. My husband lay sleeping beside me, as he was the first time I watched it.
If you have never ventured to read one of her novels, and wish to be transformed to another place and time, you will not be disappointed.
I am currently reading "One of Ours" and actually "feel" lonely while I read the heartbreaking story of a man who just doesn't understand why he exists but comes to the realization that he was born to die.

Before Jesus, came into MY life, it was utterly empty and meaningless.
Now I have a purpose and strive to bring glory and honor, to my Lord and Savior, each and every day.
